American orthopedic surgeon and internationally recognized stem cell researcher, founder of Mehling Orthopedics, and chief medical officer of Blue Horizon International (BHI), Brian Mehling, M.D., is set to present at the 2nd European Congress of Hockey Medicine from June 2-4 in Bratislava, Slovakia. The focus of his presentation will be on the topic of stem cell therapy in regenerative medicine.

In the sports medicine category, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a neurodegenerative disease associated with head trauma, has been linked to injuries that impact across a wide demographic including athletes in the hockey, football, and wrestling sectors along with those that have even served in military positions. In the US, there are more than 750 adult stem cell clinical trials approved by the Food and Drug Administration that are being conducted through ongoing recruitment of patients, many of which focus on sports-related injuries.

“At Blue Horizon International, we believe that stem cell research or regenerative medicine research holds an enormous promise for the future of medical care,” said Dr. Brian Mehling, Chief Medical Officer at Blue Horizon International. “A tremendous growth has been observed in the past decade in the stem cell research arena, especially with mesenchymal stem cells, and these therapies offer a potentially efficacious treatment for sports-related musculoskeletal injuries.”

Registered with the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic, Blue Horizon International Slovakia provides adipose stem cell therapies for orthopedic joint applications, such as ankles, knees, hips, and shoulders, along with cutting-edge technology utilizing only adult stem cells. In collaboration with Malacky Hospital in Slovakia, Blue Horizon International offers high-quality, comprehensive, and customized healthcare solutions to organizations and individuals from across the globe.
